The government has decided to stop giving cash prizes on any occasion, including competitions, exhibitions and other similar events.
This decision was made at the cabinet meeting held on last Tuesday.
Following this decision, the government will confer other prizes such as trophies, shields, plaques and certificates.
The President’s Office will issue a directive on this matter soon.

I am an expert on education working and dealing with all types of educational institutions. This is how it should be in the award giving occasions in any field especially where children are involved. This is also how it should be with adults who are rewarded with certain recognition achievements. No matter what award is given it should be in a recorded form such as certificates, trophies etc..A good move towards a developed step like the rest of the world. This healthy step taken will avoid corruption where money is handled for the wrong purpose in the hands of the wrong people.
congratulations to the cabinet on this decision. don't give money to any institution...whether thet are schools or clubs. In the past MP Hussein Mohamed when he worked in MoE took all the money given for schools for prize days. That is why he is so defensive now. And don't give money for clubs and FAM either for this person. Azim is a crook. hides everything for Thasmeen. Surprisingly new radiant is performing very badly now. maybe no money to steal from FAM and give to new radiant players.
That is a bold decision.
